Flounder Season is BACK!

Howdy Outrigger fam!

We hope you had a great Thanksgiving with your family and friends. So many people are getting ready for Christmas, but if you're like us then you're ready for flounder season! The smaller flounder have all moved offshore, and we are in the prime season for some of the biggest found you'll see all year long.

As of December 1st, the Texas flounder gigging season opened back up. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has proposed to close the flounder season similar to Texas, but it hasn't taken been officially put in place yet. The current bag limit for Texas flounder is 2 flounder until December 14th. Don't be discourage by the low bag limit, because 2 flounder during this time of the year can give you more fish fillets than a limit of 5 in the summer time. It's time to bundle up and make the most of the winter flounder season, if you're local to Rockport or Galveston you are bound to see us out on the water! After December 14th the bag limit is back up to 5 flounder.

Don't forget to stock up on gigs and lights before you get back at it this season!
